A: You're right. For most women, the average orgasm probably does last somewhat longer than four seconds. Pioneer sex researchers Masters and Johnson found that female orgasm occurs when muscles surrounding the vagina contract at intervals of about eight-tenths of a second. The more contractions, the more intense the experience. For example, an orgasm that produces five to eight contractions will last about four to seven seconds and is considered averages, while one with nine to twelve contractions, lasting seven to ten seconds, is considered very succession. When this happens, the pleasure deruved from one climax scarcely abates before the next one begins. So it's difficult to say what the maxium length of an orgasm might be!
